Making lemonade

Recently my life’s been turned on its head– I can’t work, and my gym is closed as well.  So I find myself with some unplanned time on my hands, but I’m determined to put it to use the best I can. (Plus my local running store is offering 10% off for affected folks! Time to go get those new shoes, right? Nevermind that I don’t know when I will be paid next…)

Running is simple enough to work on, but I have no idea when I’m going to be able to get back to the gym.  Luckily I planned on this being a rest week, but maybe I can do a bit of bodyweight work and keep up with that grip training.  I wouldn’t mind getting out for a long day hike, too– there’s a good trail system nearby and it would be fun to explore.

Today I went out for a long run– 4 miles. It’s been a while since I had time for that! It was very hard and very slow; it took me 55 minutes.  But hopefully I can build from there, though I’m a little worried about increasing my mileage abruptly. I downloaded the next set of Zombies, Run! missions so I have plenty to motivate me.

As I headed out of my complex to start running, I was shouted down by a man walking the other direction: “Hello beautiful! I can tell you work out a lot, you have a beautiful physique!” Does that really work for you, bro? I got things to do, and they’re in the opposite direction here…
